Courtyard by Marriott Lafayette Airport

I was frustrated to discover after checking in that the jacuzzi wasn't working, since that's why we chose the hotel. But the staff's kindness changed the experience. Chris at the front desk was attentive and stayed on top of things. Amoni at the bar was so welcoming and fun that I came back for espresso martinis every time I returned to the hotel. Everyone greeted me, and at breakfast, Laylia was great and Hannah's help got my day off to a good start. I was ready to leave a negative review over the hot tub, but the friendly, courteous staff made me forget about it. I never thought I'd end up writing a review like this.

There was no hot water during our visit, but in August it was so hot that we didn't even miss it. The courtyard was quiet and well kept, and the coffee and food were excellent and consistent. The facility could use a little love, which is to be expected for the area, but the staff more than make up for it. They were very friendly and accommodating, and I felt my girls were safe to roam, which is a huge compliment. It seems they're doing the best they can with what they have. If you need to stay in hub city, I'd recommend this place for the hospitality.

I mistakenly booked the Courtyard Lafayette Airport but arrived at Courtyard Lafayette South. The South front desk was courteous and kindly called Lafayette Airport to move the reservation. Because the Airport property charges the card at mobile check-in, I was told the room charge would take two weeks to be credited. I followed up twice and was promised a call each time, but nobody called. On my third call, General Manager John Gott told me they couldn't credit the stay. If I'd known that from the start, I would have driven 4 miles down the street to the airport location. Instead, I was led to believe the hotels would work together to provide Marriott service, and I was charged twice for the same night at both hotels. I was also not given Marriott points for the stay, even though I checked in through the app and paid in full. I'm shocked by Mr. Gott's customer service and consider this a very shady business practice. It was only a $110 room charge, and if the hotel was as full as he said, I wouldn't think crediting it would materially affect profits.

Check the bill before you leave. My stay included breakfast, but they still charged me $7.09 for a cup of coffee, even though it was part of the 'free' breakfast.
