We paid $170 for the room, and the beds were comfortable. But neither the shower nor the bathroom sink drained while we were using them, which was a hassle. At that price things should be in tip-top shape. I won’t be back; this hotel just doesn’t cut it.

The location worked perfectly for my daughter and me for one night, close to campus and a short drive from shops and restaurants. We didn’t get a chance to walk around the area. The room was a good size, with comfortable beds and pillows, but the towels were poor quality. Stained towels shouldn’t stay in daily use. During check-in I waited at least five minutes without being acknowledged while the staff member stood behind the desk watching videos on his phone. The sign saying staff were away from the desk didn’t sit well when he was right there ignoring me. At 9 a.m. the fire alarm went off, so I followed the directions and went downstairs. There were no other guests in the lobby, no staff explanation or apology for the false alarm, and no fire truck on site. I went right back up, packed, and left. Maybe I should have asked the front desk for an explanation, apology, or compensation, but the customer service was poor. I won’t return, and I’m unlikely to spend my money at Holiday Inn hotels in general.

The check-in staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel is conveniently close to campus. But the room smelled so strongly of mold that I couldn’t stay and had to find another hotel.

We’re here with our four-year-old, and my wife is pregnant with our second child. In Room 517, we found a large adult bed bug crawling on the wall, so we called the front desk right away. After a wait, they moved us to another room, but it wasn’t clean either: hair all over the bathroom, wax on the main table, and cracks in the walls. The whole hotel had run out of bottled water in the vending room. I asked the front desk for an empty jug from the kitchen so I could fill it at the fountain, but they said they couldn’t access kitchen supplies. I asked again and got nowhere. Since it was late and we had a sleepy child and a pregnant woman with us, we felt we had no choice but to spend the night and hope there weren’t bed bugs in the new room. A really terrible situation. Families, especially those with kids, should avoid staying here.
