Red Roof Inn Lafayette, LA

I booked through BringFido and double-checked that they had a note about my dogs, but the hateful man at the front desk said there wasn't one. He wanted my dogs kept in “cages” the entire time. We went somewhere else. Don't bring your fur babies here. They aren't welcome, despite the online pet policy.

The TV had graffiti on it, the hotel smelled of mildew and mold, and the bathroom door wouldn't shut. Honestly, this was the worst hotel stay of my life. Spend the extra ten dollars and go anywhere else.

There wasn't even a kitchen in the room, despite the online description and photos saying there was. The hotel pictured online wasn't the same place at all. When we entered, the room smelled terrible and made you feel dirty. I cleaned it myself because the guy at the front office was so rude, but the floor looked like it had never been cleaned, and nothing else looked clean either. There was no blanket on the bed, red stains covered the sheets, and a few lights were hanging down from the ceiling. My husband didn't want me going out alone at night because the place didn't feel safe at all. This hotel needs to be closed down. THE WORST PLACE I HAVE EVER STAYED!

At 3:30 PM, we were told our room still hadn't been cleaned, and the person on duty said our dogs couldn't be left alone unless they were caged. The website never mentioned that rule. We had booked ahead because the site said dogs were allowed, but checking in made us feel like we weren't wanted. We had to cancel and find somewhere else after a long drive. I'm just glad this didn't happen at 3:30 in the morning.
