Wingate by Wyndham Lafayette Airport

We spent five days here, and management and staff made it feel like we were staying among friends. The lobby had a welcoming lemon-grass smell, according to the front desk, and I loved walking into it. The room was spacious, with fresh clean linens and a very comfortable bed. Noise was minimal, even during a motorcycle event. They serve a warm breakfast daily, and the coffee was fresh and tasty. My husband and I travel often and care about cleanliness, comfortable beds, and service. This hotel got a 10/10 from us on all three. There are also plenty of area attractions close by. A lovely place for a few nights away.

The staff were attentive and honest. They found my Bose earbuds and shipped them to me, keeping me well informed the whole time. I’ve stayed here twice for two nights in the past three weeks, on both the 1st and 3rd floors, and was very satisfied with the clean, comfortable, spacious rooms. Each had a work desk, sofa, king bed, TV, microwave, refrigerator, and more. The location is great too: Broaddus Burgers, one of Lafayette’s best hamburger places, is a five-minute walk away, and Poupart Bakery, a nationally recognized French Bakery, is at the Pinhook intersection. A must visit, really, check it out! 😋

Ms Andrea picked me up at the airport with a genuine smile and made me feel welcome. She was the hotel’s general manager, and I immediately felt I’d be looked after. She found me brochures for places I might like and was happy to chat. Thankfully I didn’t have any problems, but I felt sure I could go to her and she’d sort them out. My stay was great, and it was nice to have her greet me by name in the morning and wish me a good day. I felt in good hands with Ms Andrea and her staff.

We’d driven for over six hours and had confirmed our room and check-in twice before arriving at 3 am. We booked through Expedia, only to discover that the hotel had cancelled our reservation without telling us. The person at the front desk was very nice, but it was incredibly frustrating to arrive so late with no room. Now we’re stuck across the road, paying extra for a hotel we didn’t want. They said they hadn’t taken my money, but my bank statement says otherwise.
