Pacific Edge Hotel

It’s right on the beach, with clean rooms that are affordable for the area and lovely ocean views to wake up to. The location is great for walking along the shore, browsing local shops, or catching the sunset. There are restaurants on the property, so it’s easy to grab something and relax in your room. A fantastic place to enjoy the beach and coastal feel, whether you’re staying briefly or for longer.

The room was small, and the bathroom was small too. We’d booked a standard room, though I purchased a villa room through a third-party site. This is one reason I dislike booking through those sites, but it would have been wayyyyyy more expensive through the hotel website. Even with the small room, we’d stay again. We appreciated being able to bring our dog, and the hotel allows pets for a $100 charge. There’s also a $100 retunrable deposit, and we paid $50 to check in early. The hotel is close to the beach and lots of restaurants and shops, with a free trolley stop right out front.

The room we eventually got was worn, old, and poorly maintained. The cleanliness and condition were below acceptable, and the place felt neglected and outdated. Valet parking was $45 per night, which they had communicated beforehand, but given the room, location, and disorganization, it felt completely unjustified. We spent nearly 40 minutes at reception sorting out basic problems. I’d booked a standard queen but was first given a room with two twin beds, so we had to go back and get it corrected. We’d also prepaid in full, but were charged again at check-in. I noticed and pointed out the duplicate charge, and it was refunded. Guests shouldn’t have to catch that themselves. The hotel advertises itself as beachfront, but it operates several buildings. We were put in a street-facing unit instead of one facing the beach, which changed the experience completely. That should be made clear when booking. The property relies heavily on branding and selective photos, but what we got, especially being in a building that didn’t face the ocean, didn’t match the advertising. This stay was frustrating from start to finish, nowhere near what was promised and not worth the money or effort. I wouldn’t stay again. I’d strongly recommend confirming the exact room type and building location before booking, or choosing another hotel.

The beach access was easy, just one set of stairs, and the beach team helped me settle into a lounge chair I could manage despite my mobility challenges and oxygen use. Our remodeled suite was right by the beach, and coffee on the balcony was lovely. The front desk, especially Crystal, was sweet and helpful, and valet parking was great. Restaurants are nearby, and there’s a late-open grocery store across the street. We had a wonderful stay and would come back if we get the chance.
