Seaside Laguna Inn & Suites Hotel

The room we got on the first night smelled of smoke. The staff moved us to another room for the night, though it was a different type because ours was sold out. Rooms are basic, but comfortable for the price. Beach towels and chairs cost extra, so I’d bring your own towel. Parking was easy, and there are good restaurants within walking distance. It’s farther from the town center, but the trolley or an Uber makes downtown accessible. I’d stay again if the price were right.

The room was great, but I expected an ocean view. Instead, I was looking at someone’s house, with construction going on very early.

The photos on the website felt deceptive. Our room was decorated with garage sale finds, and the bathtub handle was broken, so we had to go without showers. The front desk couldn’t fix it, and it clearly hadn’t just broken. The rooms are above a row of dumpsters, and the ocean view comes from a construction site. Breakfast was an overripe banana, warm yogurt, and a cheap packaged pastry.

The room was decent but could have been cleaner, and the bathroom disappointed me. The location made getting to the beach easy, and free parking was a nice bonus. Staff were warm and friendly, which made for a pleasant stay.
