John at the Gazebo Bar really made our visit special before dinner. He went out of his way to make the stay good and even mixed cocktails to suit what we liked. The tuna tostada and oysters were a perfect end to the afternoon. The staff also texted a few times to check that our accommodations were up to par, which I appreciated. We had a fun getaway at Arrive while in Wilmington. The rooms are beautifully designed. We stayed on the ground floor, where the glass doors let in lovely natural light, but you couldn't keep that light and have privacy at the same time. Next time I'm in Wilmington, I'm coming back to Arrive.

The location is great, and the courtyard is lovely in the evenings, with plenty of seating and fireplaces. I booked mostly for that setting, but I wanted to spend quiet mornings painting and relaxing outside while my husband worked. That wasn't possible. Every day from about 9 a.m. to noon, the courtyard was filled with very loud hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, and other equipment. You had to yell to be heard even by someone two feet away, and I watched other guests leave because of the noise. The landscaping workers seemed unconcerned, sometimes standing behind me revving a trimmer for five minutes and blowing the unmistakable two-stroke gas smell right at me. I understand the work has to get done, but I've never been to a hotel, especially a boutique one, where it went on so loudly for so long every single morning with so little regard for guests' comfort. Really unfortunate. If you booked hoping for cute, quiet mornings like I did, don't. The basic rooms are small, maybe 12 by 12 including the bathroom. The workers were nice enough, though a few didn't seem happy to interact with guests.

Our room was updated, quiet, and comfortable, and the restaurant on the property was great. The staff were incredibly nice. We brought our dog for one night, and they had bowls, new toys, and a bed waiting in the room. We'd stay here again anytime we're in Wilmington.

Having a separate bedroom and living area worked perfectly for us, and we loved the outdoor space too. Arrive is in an ideal downtown spot, so it was easy to walk around with our toddler. Ashley was lovely throughout the stay and accommodated every request. The hotel was fantastic, and we'd absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting downtown Wilmington.

This place was an absolute rip-off. We paid $560 for one night and got poor quality and service for the price. We booked the Queen bed suite, but the room was tiny and very worn. The hotel is an old building, and the rooms clearly haven't been renovated. The bed frame was queen-sized, but the mattress was only a full, even though the suite was supposed to have a queen. No one told us about that. The staff could not have seemed less interested in helping. The thermostat didn't work well, and despite the hotel's no-smoking rule, a strong smell of weed drifted into our room during our one-night stay. We could easily hear people talking in the courtyard below, and all of this meant we barely slept. The online pictures are completely skewed. This hotel is an absolute scam.
