At 7:30 in the morning the breakfast was cold, which is ridiculous when it should be hot. I also mentioned the dirty bathrooms in the rooms and that the shower had mold. I went to fix my breakfast and used the sanitizer by the front desk. Ray, the woman at the desk, took it away and said it was almost empty and they didn't have another bottle. I felt humiliated in front of the other guests. She had such a nasty attitude about me using the sanitizer that I decided to speak up about the bathrooms too. The woman working the night before had been super nice. Element Hotel would never. The Element Hotel by Marriott is amazing, clean, and has top-tier customer service. I will be contacting corporate.
Breakfast arrived on time, and the room was clean. The front desk staff were the real highlight, especially Esean, who was fantastic. I couldn't be happier with this stay for my work trip, and I'd highly recommend it for the staff alone.
I've been staying here quite a bit over the last two weeks while traveling for work. The staff put real effort into serving guests, and David, who handles breakfast some mornings, stands out. He keeps the area clean, replenishes fresh food, and takes care that people enjoy breakfast. Hospitality is hard work, especially when some guests act entitled. I saw him deal gracefully with a difficult guest and their children while still looking after everyone else. Parents, please help your kids fix their breakfast instead of letting them make a mess and handle all the food. I'd like the manager to recognize David for the care he puts into his job. Management should also consider signs asking parents not to let children under 12 prepare food themselves, with the possibility of being asked to leave the breakfast area. Employees should be given a voice.
The room itself was a letdown, especially for a new hotel trying to feel upscale. I could hear the people above me walking around all night, and this morning the sound of a toilet flushing and water moving through the pipes woke me up. It was louder than the HVAC fan on high. Soundproofing is terrible. Breakfast didn't match the lobby's signs about quality, either. The waffles were probably okay, the eggs tasted strongly of bacon (which I didn't mind), and the French toast was about 60 degrees. The dining area was so crowded that I left and found food elsewhere. When I called about the noise, I was told Saturdays are louder and that someone would check whether the other guests could quiet down. I know couples use hotels too, but I've stayed in places with better soundproofing, even ones that might have charged by the hour. For a one-star hotel this might be excellent, but this wasn't remotely what I'd expect from a new upscale place.
The four EV chargers were confusing to use. As of September 27, 2025, they're labeled EV+ and display the EV+ logo, but they run through the SWTCH app. You can use the website in a browser as a guest, though it asks for personal details, including your car's make, model, color, and license plate. The station scanners are for SWTCH RFID cards and won't take a credit card, so you need the app or browser. My room was spacious and clean, with a large TV and a fairly easy-to-use guide. The suite had two desks and one chair, though the stool could work as a second seat for two people working. The shower had good pressure. Housekeeping comes every other day, but the front desk can help if you need something in between.
