I’ve stayed in hostels all over the world, and this was one of my best experiences. It’s great for younger travelers, though friendly to all ages, and a good choice if you want an adventure for a great price. The place is adorable, the staff are super friendly, and it’s right on the beach with parking. The cats were a lovely surprise and made my trip even better. For a tropical place with doors and windows open all the time, it’s surprisingly clean for the most part. The harsher reviews are mostly fair, though. I think the negative ones come from people who didn’t read reviews or don’t know what a hostel is. If you’re after an island paradise on the beach, cool friends, and a great price, but shared small rooms, bunk beds, flat pillows, and sometimes unintentionally disrespectful guests don’t appeal to you, you should probably book a resort instead.

The outdoor feel was one of my favorite parts. My room was a simple partition rather than a fully enclosed space, so I woke up to birdsong, with a garden in the shared outdoor areas and cats wandering around. The beach is right there, and it’s a good spot for beginner surfers. Staff were really friendly and worked hard to keep everything clean. I enjoyed my stay and would consider coming back. I’d give it five stars if the bathrooms were cleaner and had better ventilation.

The daily rate was affordable, and I couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The staff were fantastic, always smiling and happy to chat, and very accommodating. They worked hard to keep the hostel clean and look after guests. Being less than 50' from the beach was a great bonus, with plenty to enjoy in the surrounding area.

I loved hearing the waves and birds in the morning, and the shared outdoor Tiki garden was a nice place to unwind and meet other guests. The hostel is charming and inviting, with a great location. Everyone on staff was so helpful and friendly. I’d definitely return and send my friends here.

The beach location is great, and it was pretty quiet, but the place felt gross and run down. I’ve stayed in dozens of hostels and hadn’t seen anything quite like it. The shower looked like it was decaying off the wall, and the cat and cat urine smell was VERY strong, if you’re not into cats. For the two days I was there, it worked as somewhere to crash between full days of activities. I wouldn’t have stayed longer and would have booked somewhere else.
