Courtyard by Marriott Oahu North Shore

We loved having beach access right across the street, and the hotel rents out snorkel gear and towels. It's a beautiful, safe, cozy place, with great staff and a convenient spot right by the Polynesian Center. There was plenty to do nearby, and the hotel had all the amenities we'd need. We spent so much time out seeing the sights, though, that we missed the pool, activity area with pickleball, volleyball and corn hole, and the fitness center.

It felt like we'd found a hidden gem, and the staff knew the area well and recognized us whenever we came and went. We stayed at several wonderful places on our trips, including Aulani and Ritz Carlton Residences Waikiki, but Courtyard Oahu North Shore was our favorite by far. It was clean and safe, close to lots of must sees, and we had an amazing stay. We'll be back!

It's easy to walk to the Polynesian Center, but beyond that there's only a McDonald's nearby, so you'll need a car for other things. The town is dry, so bring your own drinks. There are excellent food trucks just north in Kahuku. Staff were all great, our room was quiet, and the beds were comfy. The pool area was nice, too. There's a beautiful little beach right across the street with great views, though it's rocky and probably not the safest swimming spot in winter.

This was my second stay. Traffic can be an issue, especially on weekends, and other attractions are a bit far, though the Polynesian Cultural Center is very convenient. Remember to ask about beach access across the street. Housekeeping was great: Lois cleaned our room and shared local knowledge. Check-in was fantastic, and David was friendly and really helpful with getting the most out of my Marriott rewards. I'd suggest taking the daily food allowance instead of points.
