The staff were nice, but the place feels worn down, dark, and in need of an update. The furniture is damaged and unattractive, and the bathroom is dated. The bedding seemed clean, though the mattress was too soft and gave me no support. The refrigerator didn’t get cold, and the AC rattled loudly.

For me, the main draw is the price and convenience. You get a room, a TV, and a place to stay without spending much, and it’s near the city in DC, about a 20-minute walk from the shopping center. The crowd can include loud young adults and teenagers, so noise-canceling headphones or IEMs for music could help. I haven’t run into frequent banging myself, though your night may depend on who’s around. Staff experiences vary too. Ben was focused on his job and didn’t compromise my comfort or safety when I was in a jam, and another person helped without giving me a hard time. It’s basic service and basic food, not fancy drinks or an all-you-can-eat spread. I don’t get why people expect cheap, fast service to mean great service, but for the money this was an average hotel with people who know how to treat others.

I won’t be coming back. We came for a graduation, and on the second night, after the party, several family members who had booked here went to the pool together with toys for the kids. We’re people of color, and there were a lot of us. A worker approached without greeting us, asked if we were together, then said there was a “no party policy” and warned that we’d get in trouble because cameras could see us. She repeated it and walked away. There were other groups with many people in the pool, but nobody questioned them, and they weren’t people of color. It was disgusting to assume we were breaking rules just because we gathered together. We asked for pool towels afterward and weren’t given any. If zero stars were an option, I’d give that.

I paid in advance for four weeks, but on day seven I was told to leave immediately because the property “is not an extended stay” facility. They should have explained that before taking payment for a month-long booking. Management showed no empathy or professional courtesy and offered no help with the disruption. I was left without a place to stay or access to my money, and told the remaining balance would take 10 business days to refund. The communication and rude treatment were unacceptable. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone wanting honest service or a stress-free stay.
