Courtyard Orlando Lake Buena Vista at Vista Centre

The buffet was a real highlight on the weekend. Lots to choose from, including eggs, breakfast meats, fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, breads, and a different hot item each day. We had pancakes one morning and French toast the next, and the Mickey Mouse pancakes were a cute touch. The staff were all nice. At check-in there was only one person handling a huge line, but he stayed cheerful, appreciated my platinum status, upgraded us to a suite, and explained the breakfast option. Our suite was beautiful and clean, though there was a hole by the door and a gap underneath it where outside light came through. We ended up with a roach in the room. We liked the upgrade so much that we didn't want to complain and risk losing it. The price and location were good, with restaurants within walking distance. Even with the $10 nightly resort fee, it was an inexpensive stay. That fee includes a $5 daily credit, a free shuttle to Disney, and upgraded wifi. For platinum elite and above, I think they should ask at check-in what guests are here for. We were going to Warp Tour, not Disney, and I already get free upgrade internet. Two $5 vouchers a day might be fair for members who aren't visiting Disney.

The staff were warm and easy to talk to, especially Aixa at reception and Diego and Micaela at the coffee stand. I also met Angelo, the Director of Engineering, who was very pleasant. I had a comfortable three-night stay. The king bed was nice, the air conditioning worked great, and there was a small fridge. It's within walking distance of several bars and restaurants, and the property has a big pool and a nice fitness center.

The staff handled the couple of problems we ran into kindly and professionally, and I got the sense they're working to improve the service. I appreciated that effort. There are some worn-down details around the hotel, though. On the plus side, the team was accommodating, and the pool with its kids' splash area, lounge patio, and bar were nice features. The location also worked well for us, about a 15-minute drive from Disney and Sea World. Overall, we had a positive stay, even though I understand why some reviews are less generous.

There's plenty nearby, including IHOP, Denny's, and Waffle House, and the main pool was nice with a kids' water play area, a Jumbotron, and outdoor games where the kids could play. The rooms were clean enough. Our door lock was faulty, so coming and going was a problem, and it wasn't fixed while we were there. This is a good spot if you're doing Disney. We came for something unrelated and got stuck in Disney traffic, so it didn't suit us.
