Andre’s warm, attentive service made me feel at home at The Marco Hotel. He was incredibly accommodating, and that really stood out. I also loved the comfortable bed and the lovely room, especially the stunning lake view, which made the stay feel even more relaxing. I had a wonderful visit and highly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Lake Charles.

The beds were comfortable, the room layout was a little strange but worked, and breakfast was decent. They had scrambled eggs, bread, bagels, yogurt, juice, sausage, muffins, and coffee, though the toaster was broken. A lot of details need attention. It looked freshly renovated, but mud and dust were left in the crevices and around the A/C, and the bathroom toe boards were peeling away from the wall. I checked the beds for bugs and saw rust spots bigger than a dollar bill on both box springs, in places where no metal touches. The elevator felt janky and had tags from people scraping names and other junk into the wall with knives. The lobby ceiling, molding, and other areas had visible water damage, brown spots, and cracks. There was no shelving in the walk-in shower. We arrived at 5pm and waited 10 minutes for anyone to come to the service desk. It looked like workers were living behind the counter, a real Wild West back there. I was told on the phone we’d get a military discount. At checkout I asked about it and was told they’d call in an hour to refund the amount. It’s been well over an hour, with no call. The stay was okay overall.

The location by the water and the view were lovely. The bathrooms were spacious and clean, and the beds were very comfortable. Savannah and Andre were especially friendly and attentive, as was the rest of the staff. They’re renovating the hotel, and a few things were missing. There were no phones in the rooms, so staff had to reach guests by cell phone, and the only ice machine was on the first floor. With no room decor or painted walls, the rooms felt like being in prison. With a few details fixed up, I think the hotel will be much better in the near future. 🙏🏽

The location was good and the room was clean, but I didn't feel the stay justified the $180 we paid on New Year's Eve. The elevator was acting up when we arrived, and the room was set to 90° on heat, yet I was cold. I mentioned it to the front desk and got a blanket. The shower was the one thing we liked; the refrigerator was tiny and breakfast was very mediocre. For that price, I expected better service.
