The free breakfast had options for everyone, and the staff were wonderful and accommodating. It’s a good spot for families with kids. Lake Pepin is right across the way, and several restaurants and the National Eagle Center in Wabasha are just a short drive. Next time, we’ll book a balcony room.

The breakfast was fine, and everything in my room worked. I did wish there were outlets on both sides of the bed, so we could each plug in a CPAP and charge a phone nearby. All the plugs were on one side. The parking spaces were a little wider than usual, which made getting in and out without scratching or dinging doors easier. Both the common areas and guest room were very clean, and the staff were friendly and attentive.

The breakfast buffet was a bright spot, especially the waffle and omelette station. The rest of the stay was frustrating. We asked for a first-floor room because my husband has trouble with stairs after knee surgery, and there’s no elevator. We had three nights booked. I could see vacant rooms with the curtains open, but the desk clerk said we were assigned to the second floor and to ask the morning staff. They sent us to the manager mid-morning, who said they couldn’t help because we’d prepaid through a third-party service. Nobody seemed willing to try. It left me feeling like guests who don’t book directly with AmericInn have “lesser status.” The air conditioner leaked badly and soaked the carpet. We reported it, but it was never fixed.

The kids loved the waffle maker, and they also enjoyed the clean pool. I liked that breakfast was well stocked and everything was individually wrapped. There’s a nice lakeside restaurant across the street. The staff were friendly, everything was clean, and the rooms and accommodations suited the price.
