Mill Creek Hotel

I contacted management the next night after the cleaning staff ignored the Do Not Disturb sign and threw away several large baggies I’d saved to put my wet, snowy clothes in for the flight home. Management insisted nothing had been thrown away improperly and threatened to charge me for smoking in the room, even though I’m a doctor and have never smoked. I find it shady that charges are added to clients’ accounts while their actual concerns go unanswered. When I first arrived, the service felt super friendly. The second day, staff said they were charging a dollar for water instead of providing it complimentary because the winter festival had made things busy.

We had a cozy stay here for my birthday in January, and the location was wonderful. The suites were spacious and had nice views. We especially liked the warm breakfast, which was tasty and had a great variety. You can tell the staff care about their guests and go above and beyond with their hospitality. We’re planning to come back with our kids next summer.

The location is hard to beat, just one block from the main shopping and restaurants. Our room had separate living and sleeping areas and a small balcony looking over a wooded stream. The staff were very helpful and nice, and breakfast was included. There’s also an indoor pool and spa tub for relaxing.

The Millcreek won’t be one of my places to stay anymore. I’ve been here many times over more than 20 years, and it used to be one of my favorites for its location and comfortable rooms. Since the change in management, the property has gone downhill a lot. Our room had a huge crack in the floor and little to no maintenance. The bathroom tub jets were dirty, and I could go on. The overall look no longer felt like a four-star hotel. This isn’t the Milk Creek of old.
