Best Western of Lake George

The pool and hot tub were the nicest parts. The room had black mold on the shower ceiling and around the window casing, and the toilet barely flushed. At 9, there were no biscuits left at breakfast, though they did have sausage and biscuits. For a family of four, the bathroom had just one towel. When I asked for more, I was told they could give us only one more. Not very impressed.

The kind and helpful woman working breakfast was one bright spot. The hotel is also right off the highway and close to Lake George town. That’s about it. The sheets were permanently stained, the king bed’s pillows were tiny, and the mattress was hard as a rock. Black mold covered the bathroom walls, and the shower clearly hadn’t had a proper scrub. There was trash on the floor, and a hard candy stuck to the bottom of my sock. I travel a lot, and this was the worst hotel I’ve stayed in, which is ironic given the “Best” Western name. It wasn’t cheap either. Thankfully we needed just one night while waiting for our much nicer hotel to open the next night. Don’t be fooled by the name. This one was the worst.

The hotel is a little dated, but the staff were attentive. Bri was friendly and professional, and we didn’t feel brushed off the way we have at other motels and hotels around home. We stopped for a night after visiting family. I liked having both indoor and outdoor pools, and would like to return in summer.

The place was dirty, though a few staff members were good. There weren’t any towels in the pool area, and the coffee was horrible. I went into the breakfast area five minutes after closing to grab a coffee while people were still sitting and eating, and was told to leave. Everything came with an extra charge: $50 to arrive half an hour early and $15 for an extra cot. The bed was noisy and uncomfortable, and there was long hair from a prior tenant on the bathroom wall. I usually like BW, but I wouldn’t recommend this one.
