Scotty's Lakeside Resort

The hard beds were the only thing I’d change, but we enjoyed ourselves so much I didn’t want to leave. The staff, cleanliness, activities, and rooms were all great. Everything was very clean, updated, and smelled so good. Everyone was friendly and made us feel at home. The Cafe staff were lovely. My son asked for pancakes, and one woman made them in the shape of Mickey Mouse. He didn’t eat them because toddlers are picky, but I really appreciated her trying to make him happy. Stephanie in the office was wonderful too. She answered my questions before we booked, and her honesty and professionalism put me at ease after I’d been worried by earlier reviews. There was volleyball, a basketball court, a pool and other games, plus a wide beach where families weren’t packed together, a fire pit, and what looked like a brand-new playground. I’d expected a run-down motel and was completely wrong. It’s our new vacation spot, and we’ll be back this year. The location is close to Canada St but not right on it, so you can walk or drive. I’d drive down, park on a side street without paid parking, then walk. If, like me, you’re reading reviews and hesitating, book it. It’s worth it, I promise.

The three-bedroom suite was perfect for our family, and we’d recommend it. The kids had a blast at the pools and playing the beach games the staff had set up.

We spent the evenings making good use of the lakeside furniture and fire pits, and the weather was perfect. There was plenty to do during the day too, so it made for a great weekend. Three college friends and I have taken a long weekend away together every year for 30 years. This year we chose Lake George after one of us found Scotty’s online. It’s a beautiful spot right on the lake with a lovely large pool. We visited after summer season, so we knew the restaurant would be closed and kayak rentals and similar things wouldn’t be available. We did get to enjoy the pool on its last heated day.

The rooms are a bit older, but they’re very clean. There’s a great pool and access to the lake, plus a café serving food until 8:00 pm and a small bar.
