Sands Inn & Suites Lake Havasu City

We were stuck paying for two nights after they refused to refund us or address any of the problems, and I wish we hadn’t booked more than one. The place needs an exterminator, and the bedding needs changing and the bathrooms need cleaning. In my opinion, it could also use new management and housekeepers to keep things up to standard. This is the first place I’ve stayed where we had to bring our own bedding and towels.

The location is good, close to London bridge, and the room was okay for the price, though not very clean. It only had a queen bed, with no extra bedding offered. I gave it two stars because I found bugs. I first thought they were bedbugs, but management said they were beetles. I can’t say what they really were, but management definitely knew about them. Angela was very rude and unwilling to consider any requests. She first put us in a very dirty room, but luckily the AC didn’t work, so she had to move us. Check the AC when you get to your room, because ours wasn’t working.

The place is cute and clearly being upgraded. It was quiet, right across the alley from the local strip, and we happened to be there while downtown was blocked off for a crafts, arts and artesian artist work event. I was glad to get a last-minute room and finally use a $100 gift card from hotels.com. I’d give the stay five stars for that, but no microwave was a letdown. Since they offer daily, weekly, and monthly rentals, I’d expect one. Still, I was satisfied.

The pool area looked nice, but the room was extremely outdated, and I found dead bed bugs. Absolutely disgusting. There’s no coffee, and they provide actual dishes instead of disposable cups, with signs saying you’ll be charged if you leave dirty dishes. I always check how clean a room is, and I don’t know what some people consider clean, but I hope this isn’t how they keep their own homes.
