Motel 6 Garland, TX - Dallas

For the price and location, this is one of the better motels around here. It's mostly quiet, and if you're not doing anything sketchy, there's very little trouble. Police have been around more lately, which may help since it's right next to a pawn shop. Visitors also do a good job keeping the grounds free of pet mess, better than some apartments I've lived in. The location works well, with a Waffle House and Sonic nearby and Walmart only minutes away. Front desk staff know their stuff and are helpful, as are cleaning and maintenance. Rooms are mostly kept up, the sheets are clean and free of critters, WiFi is dependable, and there's consistently hot water. You might see the occasional roach, but nothing the size of a water bug. Once I had a room where the deadbolt wasn't properly screwed in. Good thing I had my toolkit. You may also spot a cigarette hole in a blanket. There aren't microwaves in the rooms, probably for safety with how people are, but it's something to know. I'm not a robot, and nobody paid me to write this. Though, now that I think about it, getting paid to review places could be a great side hustle. Anyway, I really don't have any real complaints. You get what you pay for.

We paid over $70 and didn't even get all the amenities. There was no microwave in the room, and the lobby one was garbage, with no handle to open its door. There was no hot water either. The air conditioning was locked so the heater wouldn't go above 69. With outdoor temperatures in the 30s, the kids and I slept in our coats under multiple blankets. It was miserable inside and out. A spider may have bitten me on the cheek while I slept. Thank God my family and I didn't see roaches, but there were spiders. Someone asked me for meth during our stay. I guess he found what he wanted, because after asking people near my room, I heard someone tell him to come upstairs to the second floor. We also saw a fight as we were leaving.

An affordable, dependable place to stop on a road trip or for a short stay. The rooms are simple, clean, and comfortable, and check-in is quick and easy. Staff are friendly and helpful, and you know what you're getting when you book.

We've been here a while and I can't see us staying anywhere else. The staff are so helpful and understanding. Our heater quit the other day, and they replaced the whole unit within an hour. It's pet friendly and human friendly too. THANK YA TO THE WHOLE STAFF, Y'ALL ARE APPRECIATED.
