Downtown Hollywood Gardens Inn & Suites

The location near restaurants was the only real plus. I was relieved I only needed four hours of sleep before heading home. When we came back from the pool, I couldn't swap my dirty towel for a clean one. The receptionist said they had no towels, and when I asked if she could get one from an unused room, she claimed every room was occupied. I didn't believe her. Earlier, I asked to check in early and was told I'd have to pay an extra $30, so I grabbed a bite and returned later. The woman gave me a key, and since there are no elevators, I carried my luggage upstairs. There was a couple lying on the bed in the room. I went right back to the office for another room. She said she hadn't known anyone was in there and handed over another key, with no apology, then seemed eager to shoo me away. The service here was not good. Don't go here.

The bathtub had a slimy, very slippery surface, which seemed like a safety hazard. I also asked the front desk for another sheet because I wasn't comfortable with the one on the bed, but they said none were available. When I arrived, the room had just two large towels, with no hand towels, washcloths, or bath mat. Those are basic things I'd expect. The room conditions didn't meet my expectations for comfort, cleanliness, or safety. I hope the complaint is considered and these issues are addressed.

Everything else was really nice, but the $100 security deposit caught me off guard when I arrived. It wasn't mentioned on Priceline's website when I booked. I even showed the woman that it wasn't listed online, but she still said I had to pay the full deposit. It was a huge inconvenience.

Whenever I'm in Miami for a weekend, this is my usual place to stay. The internet is really fast, and the staff are friendly and quick with good service. The rooms are consistently clean and cozy, with no bugs or bed problems, which matters most to me. It's my go-to each visit, and I'd recommend it if you want a comfortable, reliable stay.
