Quality Inn & Suites Lake Havasu City

For my aunt’s celebration of life, my family and I had a horrible stay. The rooms were dirty, with blood and dirt on pillowcases and towels in rooms we’d just checked into. My aunt and uncle waited an hour to check in because the workers couldn’t get into the system. I even overheard a worker recommend another hotel because this place wasn’t worth it. We booked a block of rooms, but got different rates. The rooms were the same size, floor, and view, and booked together at the same time. When I asked why, the employee said her system wouldn’t give a reason. I also tried to shorten my stay by one night, asking two days ahead, but was told there’d be no refund because I’d signed a waiver saying I’d pay for the whole trip. They said they’d submit a request. Two days later, I followed up and heard the owner had declined it. They gave no reason, then said the iPad signature was only to confirm my information, not to pay for the whole trip. I asked if the refund was denied simply because they didn’t want to give it, and she wouldn’t acknowledge that. When I questioned the rate difference again, she told me to leave the front desk because it was harassment. I’d rather sleep in my car than deal with this headache of a hotel. I hope talking with the manager in the morning gets me some answers about the differences.

Our room was clean, and it was an unusual suite setup: two rooms joined by a door, each with its own bathroom. One room had the beds removed and had a TV and couch, while the other was a regular hotel room. It was noisy, with road sounds and a garbage truck emptying the gas station dumpster at 6:30 am. Breakfast was okay.

The good parts were a firm bed that gave me one of the best nights’ sleep on my two-week trip, plus a fridge, microwave, and bathtub in the room. Parking was easy, the desk staff and the mother and daughter working the bar were friendly, and the view was great even though I couldn’t see the bridge. The negatives: the bed, towels, and even the breakfast chairs were dirty. The comped dinner and breakfast were both awful. I couldn’t take more than one bite of those eggs. What was that taste? There was lotion, conditioner, and makeup remover, but no soap or shampoo. The toilet sits very low, your boys will get a swim. Traffic noise could bother some guests.

The staff were friendly and the location is top notch, but the night was absolutely the worst I’ve ever spent in a hotel. The huge place is very dated, with several buildings separated by breezeways. Our room was right in one, so whenever people walked through talking or yelling, the echoes blasted into the room. More than one group partied their way through without seeming to care about other guests. My sister and brother-in-law were on the level below us, where a couple of families apparently fought outside their room, yelling and arguing late into the night. We could also clearly hear traffic from the street about 50 yards away.
