Rodeway Inn & Suites Lake Havasu City

It’s a handy spot just down the street from the London Bridge, especially if you only need somewhere to sleep for a night. Our room was clean, and it had the basics: a hot shower, clean sheets, running water, and a place to charge your phone. The microwave didn’t work, but they replaced it quickly, which we appreciated. It’s not a fancy hotel, and the maintenance seems badly neglected. Some curtains were missing, the ones still there needed mending, the drywall needed repair, and the old rusted trim just needed paint.

A strong smell hit me when I walked in, and the lobby stairway looked like it had never been vacuumed. I didn’t find out there was no elevator until after checking in. Upstairs, near my room, a mini fridge was leaking all over the hallway, with wet towels around it. It stayed there for at least a couple of days while I was there. The room was dingy and far too hot for the little AC unit to cool down. The bed wasn’t comfortable either. I won’t stay here again.

This has never happened to me before. When we arrived, the price was higher than the quote they had given me. They said I could either cancel without a fee or pay the higher amount. From the photos, you can see this place isn’t worth what they charge.

The location is the only thing this hotel has going for it. Our room was 220, and I would have left right away if my husband hadn’t booked a non-refundable stay. He arranged it for our anniversary, so I didn’t want to embarrass him by asking to switch rooms or complaining. We tried to stay out as much as possible during our two nights. I’ll upload photos of everything. There’s no elevator. The room was dirty above the door, with thick dust. Torn tape marked a split in the floor. The bathroom door looked as if a boot had kicked through its bottom. The fridge was set to its lowest temperature, and the freezer had thawed all over the floor by the time we arrived. I thought the alarm clock was simply unplugged. Its cord was on the floor behind the table, already plugged into the wall as far as I could tell. When I connected it to the clock, the wall crackled as the clock shorted out. I unplugged it immediately. The outlet had no cover, just a little corner of what had been a cover. The exterior door nearest our rooms was broken open and never locked, so you didn’t need a room key to get in. Our room door also had to be pushed hard to latch and lock.
