Holiday Inn Express and Suites Gettysburg by IHG

The shower takes an extra 5 to 10 minutes because the shower heads have such a low flow. They aren't clogged or damaged, just about the lowest-flow heads possible. That kept this from being a five-star stay. Otherwise, the staff were super friendly and helpful, the rooms and pool were clean, and breakfast was what you'd expect at a Holiday Inn Express. Nothing special, but fine.

The long pool schedule, 6am-11pm, was so fun! Breakfast was fine and everything else was good too. We had a nice room at the end, where we could watch traffic go by on the highway. Getting to Gettysburg Battlefield Visitor Center was easy, and Fredrick, MD, York, and Harrisburg were all under an hour away.

The desk staff were friendly and the rooms were alright, so the stay was okay overall. But a guy at the breakfast bar seemed quite pissy that day, slamming things around behind guests as if he was irritated. Nobody was doing anything wrong, just getting breakfast. It felt awkward for everyone, including my teens, who were afraid to get anything.

There was a faint cigarette smell when we first entered our regular king room, though the rest of it smelled fine. It was a standard Holiday Inn Express room. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the typical HIE breakfast was well stocked. We were just stopping overnight on our way South. The hotel is behind the outlet mall, parallel to 15, but road noise in the room was minimal. There's a filtered water fountain with a bottle filler in the gym area. We didn't use the gym or pool, though both looked very clean. Keep in mind it's a dog-friendly hotel, so there can be "landmines" in the grassy areas.
