Rumbling Bald Resort

The greens are small, but they roll beautifully, and there’s a lot of elevation between the fairways and greens, especially on the back nine. I played Monday and Friday, and both days the weather was gorgeous. The staff were really friendly, and the course was outstanding. You usually don’t need your driver much. I only used mine four times each round. Looking forward to coming back.

We just filmed a beautiful wedding at Rumbling Bald Resort, and working with the on-site vendors was a pleasure. Everyone was kind, professional, and easy to coordinate with, which made the experience wonderful. The scenery gives you so many options. We loved the clear water views from the Lakeside Gazebo, with the sun setting behind the rugged mountain cliffs. The manicured golf course worked beautifully for portraits, and the airy reception on the Lakeview Terrace had spectacular light. For a bride planning a wedding here, the private white-sand beach, wide lake views, and laid-back resort feel make the day feel like a getaway in the Blue Ridge Mountains. It’s a beautiful place, and it used to be somewhere I always thought highly of. But hearing that they recently let an employee go just for talking about their faith has changed how I feel. The way a place treats its workers affects how I feel about staying there, too. Now I’m left wondering what else they might do and keep quiet about. That makes me worried, and it’s part of my experience of the place.
