Homewood Suites by Hilton Lake Mary Orlando North

The room was awful. It smelled strange and was dirty, with bubbling, lifted floor tiles, sticky matted carpet, rust on the fridge and freezer, a smashed cabinet toe kick, and significant water damage under the kitchen sink. The toilet ran constantly unless I jiggled the handle. On the third floor, the wall looked water damaged and the wallpaper was stapled up. The power went out while I was in the elevator, leaving me in complete darkness. This hotel has no backup generator. Maintenance eventually got me out, but the stairwells were pitch black too, with no emergency lights or faulty ones. I paid to bring my dogs. Someone called to say they'd been barking for 45 minutes, so I left work right away because that wasn't like them. After looking at the camera footage, it was clear they were barking because housekeepers were yelling in the hall right outside my room. If I'd paid myself, I wouldn't have unloaded my bags and would have asked for a refund. I was here for work and had few options, so I reported the issues to my company's travel department. They removed this property from future employee stays in Sanford. Pick another hotel.

The luggage cart is a real problem. Its triangular shape holds very few bags, and if you stack or position them badly they fall off during the trip from the car to the room. You'll end up carrying most of it or making lots of trips. Aside from that, it was a pleasant stay. The room and the service were five star. The food gets three stars, not because of the preparation or kitchen staff, but because it's Sisco style/brand food.

We were here for a baseball tournament, and Josh was incredibly kind and helpful with an issue I had. He assisted me and my child during our visit and was easily the most informative staff member we dealt with. He deserves the recognition and is a huge asset to the hotel.

We had one of the worst hotel stays we've ever experienced at Homewood Suites by Hilton North Orlando, in Room 411. Our toilet was completely blocked early in the morning. Before leaving at 7 a.m., we told the front desk and explained we'd be away until 9 p.m., giving them the whole day to deal with this basic, critical problem. When we got back, it was still blocked. We called again and were promised a plunger within 30 minutes, but it never came. We had to spend the night and the next morning without a working toilet. That's unsanitary and unacceptable, especially at a Hilton-branded property. There was no urgency, follow-through, or basic concern for guest hygiene. This was a complete service failure, with poor management and communication and no accountability. We won't return and can't recommend it.
