GuestHouse Inn & Suites Grayson

We arrived around 1am on a Saturday last week and were greeted by a strong chemical smell, like air freshener or very powerful cleaner. The front desk agent didn’t seem welcoming and lacked basic customer service. The elevator was broken too, and we didn’t want to carry our suitcases up the stairs. We went down the road to the Days Inn and had a lovely stay. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

The bed was really comfortable, and the pillows were too. The bedding was fresh, and the beds and floors were clean. There was some hair in the tub, though. I needed to switch to a different Best Western location for my second night, and they refunded me that same night and let me change locations without any hassle. I appreciated that.

On 10/30/2025, while staying at the SureStay Best Western in Grayson, KY, I was terrified when a female employee and an unidentified man tried to enter my room at 11:30pm, saying they were “checking rooms.” They would have gotten in if I hadn’t had the safety catch on. I couldn’t sleep for the rest of the night. I later found out the employee had a varied criminal history, including an arrest as recently as 10/03/2025. I’ve tried repeatedly to get the hotel to address what happened, but aside from a $25 credit to my bill, issued without discussing it with me first, they’ve refused. I contacted Best Western Corporate, which continues to give the hotel time to respond. After two weeks of trying to make sure this is handled and doesn’t happen to someone else, I’m sharing my experience so other travelers know. Best Western doesn’t seem to treat customer safety as a concern, let alone a priority.

The breakfast was quite tasty, and the rooms were acceptably clean. There’s no elevator.
