I was at Westin Lake Mary for a dinner seminar and only saw the grounds and ground floor over about three hours, so I may have missed the hotel’s charm or selling points. The building is large and relatively new, with plenty of parking, including EV charging and accessible spaces. Its seminar rooms felt large, bland, and impersonal; the corridors seemed oversized, sterile, and too monochromatic. Maybe the public areas were meant to have a Mid-Century modern look, but they lacked that era’s colors and quirkiness. There are a couple of bars or lounges and a snack wall you can pay at if you know where to find it, but none seemed set up for casual group conversation, business chats, or one-on-one meetings. The hotel is easy to find and get in and out of, right off a major road with lots of traffic, noise, shopping, and dining. For business nearby, it should be adequate. For family attractions or nightlife, expect a significant drive: 30-45 minutes to downtown Orlando and over an hour to the major theme parks, using Interstate 4, which I called the deadliest highway in America. If spaceships, sand, or race cars are what you’re after, KSC, Daytona Beach, or some of Florida's finest Atlantic coast beaches are 45 minutes to an hour away.

The Westin was our hub for the whole wedding weekend, and everything was easy for us. We enjoyed spending time in the lobby, plus breakfast and the bar at Shula’s, and had a lovely brunch for 100 wedding guests out on the patio. Sophie, Sandra and Sebastian handled our wedding weekend reservations with such grace and patience, and they arranged a shuttle to the venue for our guests. We’re thankful to the Westin staff for making it all so easy.

Julia at the front desk made us feel very welcome when we checked in, she was so friendly and helpful and seemed genuinely happy to have us there. We stayed for three nights over the New Year holiday and got wonderful service. The area is great for shopping and restaurants. Fishbones just across the street was fabulous, and there were several other good dining options nearby.

We booked for one night on 11/30 because the hotel is close to Sanford Orlando airport for our early flight and has a hot tub and heated pool. The room was very clean and neat, and we were pleased with it. The heated pool was toasty warm, but the hot tub was out of order, with no notice on the website or elsewhere. Staff were okay, neither especially friendly nor rude. I was puzzled that the room had only one robe for two people on the reservation, since another would’ve been handy for the pool. We ate at the attached Shula 347 restaurant. It was very PRICEY, but the food was excellent. We’d definitely come back.

I’m still in the room before leaving today, Dec 23 2025. Adyan and Aja welcomed me nicely at registration yesterday and were very helpful. The Shula restaurant was good, too. I had a delicious crab cake and a Cesar salad, and Micheal, the waiter, was very professional and nice. The room wasn’t what I expected. The chair at the bureau was torn, and the cleaning service wasn’t professional. There was nothing to clean with after using the toilet, and the person who cleaned the bathroom hadn’t done that. This is not acceptable at all from a hotel assigned to the Marriott. Breakfast was okay. I won’t add a photo of the toilet, since it’s not nice to look at.
