Capernaum Lakeside Lodge

A sleep mask would help if you like a dark room. The high windows weren’t covered, and light from the grounds’ lamps made it hard to sleep. That was my only issue. The location is beautiful, the room was immaculate and comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. I loved my stay here.

Friends got married here, and the setting made their ceremony feel romantic, like a “happily ever after.” The food was delicious, and they even served cute mini pies alongside the cake. It’s a beautiful historic building, with an amazing wood ceiling and chandeliers.

There’s a great view of the lake out back, and breakfast is a full Continental spread that my wife and kids loved. The rooms are comfortable, and some have a stove, which is handy. It’s a very nice historic place to stay. The downside was that there were quite a few bugs and spider webs in the outdoor areas.

We were there from Friday night to Monday morning. The room was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and it stayed quiet even though every room was booked. Cell reception was spotty, and the Wi-Fi was weak in our room. The water took a while to heat up, but it did get hot. Breakfast was just okay, nothing special. I’m looking forward to trying brunch next time. There weren’t enough towels, and nobody was at the desk over the weekend. I’ll ask for extra towels up front next time. It’s a beautiful place.
