Captain John Smith Inn Williamsburg

The location is handy, near restaurants and Premium Outlets, and not too far from Busch Gardens. It’s a cheap motel that’s okay for a night or two. The bed was okay, the sheets were clean, the mini fridge was a good size and kept my water cold, and I didn’t see any live bugs. But the room had plenty of problems. The shower was too dirty to use, though the curtain was clean. The carpet was stained and filthy, two small bed pillows were flat, and one washcloth had a red stain. There was a dead roach under the sink. The AC cooled the room but made loud whining and squealing noises. The pool was closed; management said nights were too cold to keep it open. Lots of people sit on the balcony and look like they live there. The motel is right by train tracks. I heard at least three trains at night, and the sound was like five planes continuously going by. I live near an airport, and even there the noise is bad. Sometimes the AC drowned out the train.
