Club Wyndham Patriots Place

The location was convenient, about a 10 to 15 minute drive from major attractions, restaurants, and shops. Our standard suite had a king bed, small kitchen, and basic amenities, plus a fire pit. They don’t clean rooms daily like most hotels. Check-in was awkward. We’d asked whether early arrival was possible and were told yes, but our room wasn’t ready. After checking in, we waited 45 minutes for keys. While we waited, someone at another desk offered a “free gift” in exchange for a scheduled 90-minute tour and presentation at another nearby Wyndham property. We learned Club Wyndham Patriot’s Place was a timeshare, not the traditional hotel Expedia had advertised. The gift required a deposit, so we declined. The next day, we got texts about the tour and gift anyway. They shouldn’t message guests who say no. It was off-putting. The room had a stale, odd smell, and there was a dead water bug by the trash can. I messaged the front desk, and someone promptly removed it, but I wondered how it was there if the room had just been “cleaned.” Our keys stopped working after the first night, delaying our plans. The stay was adequate. I’d tell guests to make clear upfront they’re not interested in a timeshare, and the rooms need better cleaning.

The rooms were old and smelled, and the lobby check-in started with rude salespeople pushing a resort presentation. This is a timeshare. They kept saying it was a vacation club, not a timeshare, and got us into the presentation anyway. We came home from the awful experience and canceled the contract, but they talked us out of canceling and into signing at a reduced rate. We felt lied to and manipulated over and over, and didn’t realize it was a scam. Stay away from Club Wyndham travel leisure resorts. They’re con artists who lie to get your money.

We come for a week about every other year, and the staff have always been kind and helpful. Yadira at the Check in desk was awesome and helped us a lot. We enjoyed sitting by the fire pit each evening and meeting some great people there. We’ll be back in two years. See you then.

The room was comfortable, but finding a parking space at night was difficult because spots aren’t assigned. Check-in turned sour after we were sent from the desk to the concierge for our keys. It began pleasantly, then became a timeshare pitch promising amazing free things if we sat through a 90-minute sales presentation. We didn’t want it and I hated being blindsided. After we declined, I got a call the next day confirming we’d attend. Signing us up after we’d said no was poor customer service. I’ll never stay at one of these again.
