Hyatt Place Virginia Beach Town Center

Since the hotel is on a busy street, I'd ask for a room facing the parking lot and set the thermostat fan to run overnight. It's handy to stores and restaurants. Rooms have a mini fridge but no microwave, and the lobby now has a small shop with snacks and drinks. We've never tried the breakfast or restaurant, so I can't comment on them. We've stayed overnight several times, but this was our first three-night visit. As usual, the hotel was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The shower had good pressure even on the 6th floor, the towels were fluffy and plentiful, and I like that you need a keycard for the elevator.

I was visiting a dear friend, but you need to be a registered guest to use the elevator. Luckily, a guest happened to be riding it. The room was quaint and quiet, with the usual motel amenities, though it was small compared with others. My friend said there's a full free breakfast, which is a plus.

The suite was close to Town Center, but only okay overall. We stayed in a one bedroom suite facing a major road, and traffic and emergency vehicles made it noisy. We asked to switch rooms, but were told that this room type was only available in that part of the building. There was plenty of cabinet storage in the kitchenette, but almost nothing in the cabinets besides two coffee cups and two small glass cups. That was very different from the photos we saw.

The room was very clean and breakfast was really good. The two people who checked me in were nice and friendly, though the rest of the staff seemed annoyed. Doors kept slamming all night and there was banging against the walls early in the morning, which was aggravating. It was okay for the price, but I'm not sure I'd stay again.
