Days Inn Virginia Beach Oceanfront

The location is hard to beat, right in the middle of the boardwalk, with every room offering an ocean view and just steps to the boardwalk. The rooms are dated but very clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast is basic, though there’s a good selection. The indoor pool was warm and the area clean and well kept. For the price, I’d definitely recommend it and would stay again.

We were disappointed and wouldn’t recommend this hotel. It might suit someone looking for a cheap oceanfront stay without much charm, but our first room had a handicap bathroom even though we aren’t handicapped, and there was no vanity to put anything on. The grout was disgustingly dirty. We asked to move and got another room with a regular bathroom that was much nicer. Everything is very dated, and the air freshening spray they use in the rooms smelled terrible. It was so strong it set off my asthma, and we had to air the room out before we could stand being in it. The indoor pool was freezing, so we didn’t go in.

The hotel team and manager were outstanding during my stay, professional, understanding, and hospitable. They took care of my concerns promptly and helped cancel my remaining nights without any penalty. I really appreciate their service and how they went out of their way to make things right. The room had a noticeable musty smell, and early morning construction noise made the stay less comfortable than I expected. The staff earned the four stars.

The best parts were the balcony view and being right on the beach. Breakfast was decent, and the room price was reasonable. I picked a smoking room because of my mom, but the eighth-floor hallway and room badly needed ventilation. I spotted a few tiny roaches by the coffee pot and moved the pot and basket out onto the balcony. I didn't see any elsewhere. There was hair in the bathroom and little hairs on the supposedly clean towels, so housekeeping needs to do a better job. The hotel could use an update.
