Extended Stay America Select Suites - Lake Worth

The noise was constant, and you could hear everything. We got just two towels for two adults over three days, and they charge extra if you ask for more. There were roaches, and the fire alarms kept going off. On my first visit, I didn’t even get the room I’d paid for. Easily one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had, and not worth the money.

My husband’s employer booked his room around 5 p.m. Since he was traveling for work and had a 9 a.m. meeting, we called ahead to explain that he’d arrive around 1:30 a.m. We were told check-in usually ended at 1 a.m., but he could call reservations when he arrived and someone at the front desk would come down. We checked this carefully because we didn’t want him stranded late at night. He followed those instructions, but when he got there, staff said an “automated system” meant they couldn’t check him in. They also claimed we’d been told this in advance, which we weren’t. If they’d explained that, his employer could have arranged somewhere else. It was almost 2 a.m. and he had nowhere to stay. The booking agency his employer used later contacted the hotel. It seems the hotel is now falsely saying we were told he couldn’t check in after midnight. I’m appalled they won’t take responsibility for the misinformation. We called promptly, confirmed the details, and did everything we were supposed to, but they’re denying the miscommunication. This was disappointing and unprofessional, and says a lot about the hotel’s communication and management. I’d tell businesses to book elsewhere. We’ll also let his work know to avoid this chain from now on.

It’s quiet enough to work from home or sleep, and the location and value are both good. The staff are friendly, and the cleaning and maintenance crews work efficiently. No complaints from me. I’d stay again.

I was there over Valentine’s Day and Presidents’ Day weekend, when prices everywhere were unusually high. Even so, I wouldn’t stay here at any price. It was extremely noisy, there were homeless people in the parking lot, and plenty of other problems. I absolutely wouldn’t recommend this dump.
