Lago Mar Motel and Apartments

We had no choice but to stay because everywhere else was full, and we wound up cleaning and disinfecting the unit ourselves. The sheets, towels, and room were dirty, with marks even on the walls, and it smelled like greasy cooked food. The owner kindly brought fresh linens and towels, and we bought a candle to help with the odor. The bedroom A/C was cold but very loud. I was glad we brought our own blanket, extra pillows, and pillowcases. There were lots of transit people staying up all night on both nights. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The place had potential and felt cozy, but Christina's behavior made this the worst hotel we’ve stayed at, including places right down the street. My fiancé and I had no privacy. She would walk straight into our room without knocking, even while we were sleeping, and I’d find her at the foot of our bed. Another neighbor said she walked in while he and his girlfriend were there. A neighbor also said her camera caught Christina going into her room and looking through her belongings several times, and caught the maids going through her personal things too. I don’t know why Christina thinks it’s okay to enter rooms people are paying for without knocking. There was illegal activity going on at all hours, which Christina was aware of. I can’t recommend staying here, and wouldn’t return even if she paid me. I’ve never written a review before, but people should know what may be happening before paying her ridiculous prices to be treated poorly and lose their privacy.

It’s a small, family-owned place without many bells and whistles, so don’t expect a Marriott experience. If that’s fine with you, this is a quiet, safe spot in Lake Worth with cable and internet, close enough to downtown. When I’ve visited family here six or more times, the rooms have all had the same layout: a living area, one bedroom and bathroom, plus a kitchen with a small dining area. Publix is right down the street, which makes it a really practical setup.

The place could have potential, but the old furniture was badly soiled and covered in cigarette burns. The sheets were so worn they were practically see-through. I stayed two nights and wanted to leave right away, but I’d booked through a place that wouldn’t let me cancel. For that kind of dump, the price wasn’t worth it. I’d rather have slept in my car. They need to update it and get the filth cleaned out before I’d suggest staying there.
