Hyatt Place Lakeland Center

The room took absolutely forever to be ready, and they did nothing to make up for the wait. They didn’t even offer a later checkout. They said this happens every weekend, but maybe they should plan for it. Parking was a mess too. The sheets weren’t clean, the bathroom was dirty, and the whole place felt gross. I’ve stayed at a lot of hotels, and this is in my top three worst experiences.

Every request was handled in a timely way, and the communication made a real difference. The front desk, breakfast attendant, housekeeping staff, and managers all went beyond what I expected. The hot buffet breakfast was a perfect luxurious touch. The cleanliness, customer service, and hospitality were as good as they get. This place is unmatched and the best hotel in town by far. I’ll only stay with Hyatt from now on, and I’ll recommend it to everyone I know. Thanks for an unforgettable stay. I’m looking forward to coming back!

Staff were very friendly, and the service was great. The rooms are spacious, but the decor feels a bit dated and more low end than the Hyatt we stayed at in Miami Coral Gables. There’s a train track near the hotel, and depending on which side you’re on, trains can get pretty loud in the middle of the night. Downtown Lakeland is nice, though less walkable than I expected, so we drove pretty much everywhere.

This was our first stay at Hyatt, and it’ll be the last. We got there an hour early, at 130, and were told, “We dont start taking checkins until 230.” I’ve traveled 20 times a year and never had another hotel turn me away when I was an hour early. Usually they find a room, but here we had to drive around for an hour. The rooms also lacked basic things like plastic utensils, paper or plastic cups, and laundry bags. Two stars at best.
