Rodeway Inn Lakeville - Finger Lakes Area

The hotel is very basic, maybe a 3.5 for me, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad. The staff are friendly, and the location is great, especially if your kids go to Geneseo, since it’s cheaper than other places in the area. It doesn’t look like much, but it’s near about three microbreweries and shares a building with a restaurant that’s exceptional. I’ve never stayed anywhere else, and for the price it’s well worth it. You can’t judge a book by its cover.

We stayed three nights in mid-August, two adults in a King room, and found it OK. The bed was comfortable, the room was spacious, and the bathroom had a large shower instead of a tub shower. The staff were friendly. It’s an older hotel, and some furnishings are showing their age. Housekeeping is only offered every three days. Breakfast isn’t included, but they gave us $3 off breakfast at the attached restaurant. Prices ran from $5 for two eggs to $9.50 for two eggs, home fries, and a meat; pancakes started at $5. The two Rodeway signs near the road are small and easy to miss, while the building says “Leisure’s Restaurant & Hotel”. We drove past it the first time and had to circle back. Parking can be tight around dinner because of the restaurant. The ice machine is behind the front desk, so someone has to be there to get ice. There are rooms on the second floor, but no elevator. The room was dimly lit, and the lights that were there were on the dim side. Your experience may vary. Also, it seems the front desk doesn’t open until 8am.

Kate at the front desk is great, and everyone was friendly. She made us fresh coffee, and our room was quiet and really nice. It had a new bathroom and TV, plus a microwave, fridge, and a real coffee maker. I felt safe and welcomed in a new town, and I’d love to stay again. Can’t beat it.

The restaurant food was very good, and the staff were pleasant. They even offered to help with our bags. The room was clean and comfortable. It’s an older hotel, but the location is good.
