Mike made check-in a great start to our stay at the Fairfield Inn by Lakewood Ranch. He was really pleasant, took care of our request, and got us into the room quickly. We’re here for a couple of nights, and our golf vacation is off to a grand start. Kudos!

The staff were friendly, but the stay was a disappointment. The elevator was out, so we had to haul our luggage up the stairs. They said it would be fixed “tomorrow,” but that never happened. Our room smelled distinctly sweaty, and the old-style AC unit wasn’t controlled by the central thermostat. Even the small things fell through, like running out of face towels and breakfast items.

One staff member was especially rude and abrasive, though most of the team was nice. The hotel itself was okay, but the rooms could use some work.

The front desk clerk was very friendly. Our room was on the 3rd floor while the elevators were broken, so it would’ve been nice to get some points to make up for the hassle.

I was very disappointed. The hotel had no working ice machine, and our door lock was broken. The worst part was dealing with a GM who didn’t seem to care. I had an issue and left numerous messages, but she couldn’t be bothered to respond.
