Lambertville House

Really good place for a weekend away. Our room was clean and roomy, and having a fireplace in it was a treat. The bar on site had great drinks, food, and service. Already looking forward to staying again.

Had a light lunch with my wife and mom. Ann was a friendly, welcoming server and pointed me to the chicken sandwich, which was fantastic. Such a simple sandwich, done just right. The ciabatta wasn't tough or chewy, which is rare. I'll stop in for lunch next time I'm in town.

A really special little bar and lounge in the lambertville house. Good for a few drinks and bites, and if you can snag one of the front window seats, the people-watching is great.

We made a special two-hour drive to the Lambertville House for dinner because we were excited for the French onion soup and chicken pot pies we used to love. Neither was on the one-page menu. It had a few sandwiches, salads, and snack type dishes, nothing that felt like dinner. The prices seemed high for what was offered, like $16.00 for grilled cheese and tomato soup. It's a restaurant, sure, but there's nothing special about that or a chicken sandwich. The drinks menu, though, was four pages of beer, cocktails, wine, cordials, and more liquor than food. The dining room has been redone, with puffy seating at the center tables and along the walls, plus dark curtains. It reminded me of the inside of Jeannie's bottle from I Dream of Jeannie. When we asked about the soup and pies, the waitress said they don't make them anymore and mentioned that other guests had been disappointed too. We left without ordering and went to Lambertville Station down the street. It wasn't as good as it used to be either, but at least there was more to choose from. We won't make that long drive back to the Lambertville House unless they bring back the onion soup, pot pies, and some other items. The menu online is the old one, and none of that is available now. In my opinion, they've ruined what used to be a great place. Change isn't always for the better.
