Red Carpet Inn

This place smelled everywhere, even the water, and the bath mat was gray. It was so run down it should be torn down. The room was full of bugs. We woke up covered in bites and found termites, which I didn’t even know could bite. I called the office, and they came to clean the bathroom and mop, but they didn’t change the beds or spray for bugs. I wasn’t in the room when they did that. The receptionist was the rudest person I’ve ever dealt with and seemed to hate her job. She yelled across the parking lot that I couldn’t enter my room until my autistic son gave her his ID, which was in his suitcase. Copying it took 20 minutes and made us late for dinner with family after I’d driven 8.5 hours. I’d asked for a first-floor room, but she said dogs were only allowed on the second floor. I also heard someone say the first-floor rooms were rented as miny apartments and that they were being evicted. They even keep the lobby door locked all the time, so someone has to buzz you in. Warning sign. I should’ve run as soon as I arrived.

Reasonable price, and our room was clean and well maintained. I’d stay again.

The workers were friendly and accommodating, which I appreciated. That was the only highlight. The entrance and drive-through are a bit tight, and we found out the pool was closed even though it was early June. Our room had lots of stains and several flies in the bathroom. It seemed like it hadn’t had a thorough cleaning in a while. I was appalled and glad we were only there for one night. Even with the helpful staff, I wouldn’t return.

We had room 202, above the restaurant, and it was huge. The evening staff were great, and the king-size Beautyrest mattress was wonderful. For $100 a night, this is five stars in my book and an excellent value. Highly recommend. Namaste Indian/Napali/Asian restaurant was excellent too.
