The room's sewer smell made the stay uncomfortable. Flushing the toilet seemed to pull air through the shower drain, letting sewer gas into the room. The shower's hot and cold water were also reversed, and the floors were very dirty. I walked around for just a few minutes before showering, but the dirt from my feet quickly turned the bottom of the shower black. Plumbing problems can be costly to fix, but these aren't minor issues. They affect comfort and health and need prompt attention, along with the cleanliness. The hotel has a lot of potential. I was excited to visit the brand-new Hampton Inn & Suites in West Point–Lanett, and it looked beautiful on arrival, with modern finishes and a fresh design.

I was working nights during my stay. The rooms were comfortable, and I stayed in two of them. Breakfast staff and housekeeping were nice, and staff were friendly to me, though they sometimes got pulled away from the front desk. I also spoke with several customers who were very frustrated. The maintenance guy was the least savory person I dealt with. He liked standing outside my door and flirting with the cleaning crew on the third floor.

My elderly parents stayed here for their granddaughter's wedding, and they were well taken care of. They had a nice room, and all they talked about afterward was how friendly and helpful everyone was.
