Budget Inn

The room and lobby felt damp and disgusting, and even the walls were dirty. Sheets looked clean at first, but closer inspection showed stains. The toilet smelled awful and hadn't been cleaned properly, the bathroom door lock was broken so the door wouldn't shut right, and the shower looked like one from an abandoned house. There were stains all over the sink and bath, too. The door's extra locks seemed to have been removed. I've stayed in cheap hotels and hostels before, but this was by far the sketchiest and most disgusting place I've encountered. The cleaning looked so poor that a child might have done a better job.

I checked the reviews on Working Advantage first, and they didn't seem too bad. I can only call this place disgusting. I left and found somewhere else, but they refused to refund me, saying I'd been in the room more than five hours. I couldn't stand being there for five minutes. This place should be shut down. I only gave it one star so I could post the review. I have pictures, but for some reason can't upload them. Casualty?

The location is convenient, with plenty of stores and restaurants within walking distance, and I felt mostly safe thanks to the secure digital key. The receptionist I met was nice and kindly stored my luggage in a secure room, and I had a clean ironing board. My bed, bathroom, and most of the room were clean; the towels seemed washed too, though I found a long black hair in them. But the room had a stale, musky smell, likely from poor ventilation that may not be regularly maintained. You really need to open the windows if you're staying here, and there's a risk of mold and mildew. The mini-fridge smelled putrid, so I couldn't use it and my food went bad. The entry hall smelled like urine, and the stairs were filthy, which made each trip outside feel like a major effort. The TV didn't work, there's no free coffee or tea in the room, and I'm not sure I trusted the tap water because it smelled odd. There isn't an elevator for luggage, though the receptionist helped me store mine. No breakfast either. There are quite a few drawbacks, so whether the lower price is worth it depends on how much cleanliness and air quality matter to you.
