Hilton Garden Inn Lansing West

Having Horrocks right across the street was a big plus. The staff were kind and helpful without hovering, and I liked the infused water. My room was quiet, slept really well, and had a layout that seemed thoughtfully done, maybe even genius. It was an amazing stay.

I’m picky about hotels, but this one really impressed me. The rooms were comfortable and very clean, and the lobby felt inviting. There are lots of restaurants and shops nearby, plus Horrocks is within walking distance and a must visit. There was no breakfast included, the pool was on the small side, and the hot tub was broken. That seems to be the case at every hotel lately 😩🤷🏻‍♀️.

The air conditioners were set so high that the rooms wouldn’t cool down, and ours smelled horrible and wasn’t clean. The staff were not customer friendly and seemed incompetent. They’d say “I’m so sorry” in a fake voice to appease me, then do nothing about the problems. Even as a Hilton Diamond Member, I wasn’t offered a different room or an extra hour for checkout, and they didn’t recognize my Diamond status. They did nothing about any of the issues during my stay.

The toilet in my room was broken, and management said there was nothing they could do. The pool area was completely out of control, with kids playing with the life saving device as if it were a toy. I booked this hotel specifically for the Hot Tub, drove out of my way, and paid double the going prices at nearby hotels. Brooke, the manager, completed check-in before telling me the Hot Tub was out of order. There was no transparency. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
