Best Western Lapeer Inn

After checkout, I realized my handbag had slipped behind the bed in my room. Hotel manager Hannah and her team helped locate it, and everything inside, including my cash, IDs, and credit card, was returned just as it had been. I really appreciate their professionalism and honesty. They earned my trust, and I'll choose Best Western in Lapeer again when I stay in the future.

The beds were very comfortable, and I had no complaints during my week there. Rooms were clean, the staff were welcoming, and it was good value. I would ask for quieter rooms, though. The neighbors can get loud, and I'm not even a light sleeper.

The building feels run down and needs updating, though the staff were nice. During my stay on 4/10/26, I found broken glass on the pool floor and several used kids' pool toys that looked old. It gave the impression the area isn't cleaned very often. I also noticed the pool license had expired five months earlier, back in December. The receptionist said the hot tub had been out of order for six or seven months, despite the website advertising a seven-person hot tub. There is no hot tub on site.

The room was clean when we arrived, but the hotel's exterior needs maintenance and repairs. In the back parking lot, the retaining wall had fallen in, with cones placed around it. The hot tub was out of service, and five of the ten pool area games were out of order. None of that was mentioned on the website. We stayed two nights a year ago and had a pleasant visit, with nothing broken or unavailable. If I'd known about the current condition, I wouldn't have booked again.
