That night in the Sportsman room felt like being at home, and after nearly two weeks on the road, we slept better there than anywhere else so far. The rooms, staff, amenities, and location were all fantastic. We’d happily stay again if we’re back in La Plata or nearby.

We had a fun time checking out the train displays, and there was plenty for the kids too: a clean, nice indoor pool and a playset out back. The lounge and pool table made a good place to hang out, and the rooms were quiet. We'd come back when we're in the area.

The Western-themed suite was really nice, and we enjoyed the Inn's train theme and all the history that comes with it. The staff were great and helpful, and the room was great too. The heated pool was great, the jacuzzi was clean and awesome, and the playground, bikes, and basketball hoop made the Inn very accommodating. My only real gripes were the very soft bed, which was hard on my back as a big guy, and the electric fireplace's loud humming. Even with those, we were very satisfied and would stay again.

The breakfast was a letdown, which is why I took off a star. Otherwise, it was a very pleasant surprise during my two-night business trip. My room was comfortable and well appointed, and everyone on staff I dealt with was friendly and helpful. I'm not a train buff, but train fans would love it.

There's a little train museum along the hallway, and the place has a lovely atmosphere with great service. The pool is warm, with water falling from the ceiling, and there's a billiards table in the lobby plus shelves of books to read. Train fans should stop here, and they take dogs too. I also liked having real keys and deadbolts on the doors. The beds are comfortable, and I'll definitely stay again. I bought a robe while I was there, and it's still so comfortable.
