Comfort Inn La Porte

I’m staying here because my employer booked the room. Getting ready for bed, I took off my jewelry and got out my Bible, then stepped on something sharp underfoot. It was toenail clippings on the floor. I called the front desk, and they said they couldn’t vacuum but could sweep. Someone came in, swept only part of the area, and insisted the clippings were paper. They left two or three pieces of toenail behind. I took a picture. The housekeeping is terrible, and the rooms aren’t being cleaned properly.

We’re going to have our friends and family stay across the street at the Holiday Inn, where we already have rooms, and find other rooms elsewhere. Holiday Inn got back to me quickly with a group rate despite being busy in October for ND games. Someone I know who works for ND also told me that weekend is an away game. I’d first called a year ahead about a group rate for our local wedding in Oct 2026. Someone took my information and said they’d be in touch. I also submitted the online group-rate form and emailed the contact twice, then called once, but heard nothing. When I called the hotel again, they passed my information to a manager, who returned my call quickly, which I appreciate. The manager said they don’t offer group rates in October because of the ND games. Why wasn’t that explained earlier? Please don’t promise a callback if no one is going to follow up.

Our railroad crew always stays here when we're in town, and we couldn't be happier with the care from Mr. Patel and his staff. There’s great food all around too. STAY HERE!!!

This LaPorte location was a letdown, and I won’t stay here again. I’d already paid, so I just got through the night. There was dust in the room, including hanging from the fan above the whirlpool tub, plus glitter on the floor and on a stand. I’ve never run into these problems at another Comfort Inn. I got a small spot of soy sauce on a blanket, and they’re trying to charge me 50$ for it. If you’re looking for an affordable place in LaPorte, I’d choose Holiday Inn Express and Suites instead. Otherwise, take the extra time to go to the Valparaiso location, which is EXCEPTIONAL!! If I’d known the LaPorte hotel would pull this, I would’ve taken pictures of the room. Wish I had. Lesson learned.
