Holiday Inn Laramie by IHG

This was my second visit. The rooms are nice, though the pillows need work. They go flat, and I had to fold one over once or twice to get even a little firmness. The 7220 Lounge - Cheyenne was fantabulous. Mixology is her thing, and she's super friendly and helpful. I hope they're paying her well, or someone will snap her up.

Tori was the only person who showed me kindness through this whole check-in mess. She kept an eye on me and somehow got me into a room before 4 so I could shower and make the UW game. That was after I sat in the lobby for three hours. The manager, Quiara Poirier, and Anna at the desk were both rude when I asked why I couldn't check in early after being told by phone earlier that week that I could. Quiara said they were hosting the opposing team and told me to leave and come back. I was in town for a UW football game after camping all week, and had booked here so I could shower and walk to the stadium. After the game, people who had chosen to check in then faced a wait of over an hour. The staff had booked the school playing UW and let them keep their rooms until 2:30, at UW fans' expense. As a former college athlete and coach, I've often been told visiting teams had to stay in another town because motels were full, so I was upset to see this place sell out for money at the expense of UW fans. I won't stay here again and can't recommend it. It felt like they cared about making as much money as possible, not hospitality. Very disappointed in the manager and management staff.

We got our reservation dates wrong, but the staff fit us in for the same reservation with only a small price increase. I'd booked Tuesday check-in when I actually needed Saturday. Everyone was friendly and efficient, and the rooms were clean.

The only downside was that breakfast is served through the Perkins restaurant and isn't included. The fitness center had enough equipment for a decent workout, and our room was comfortable with a TV that was easy to use. After traveling all day, I appreciated how friendly and helpful the female attendant was when she walked me through setting up the WiFi. The bathroom only had a shower.
