The staff were actually quite good, helpful, and apologetic. The entrance was bright, clean, and quite nice, but past the doors to the rooms, watch out. The place smelled, the carpet was ancient, and our room was sketchy at best. The floor hadn't even been swept, let alone cleaned in who knows how long. It still had the previous owners' signage, and you can see why they sold it. If we hadn't been desperate, we would have asked for a refund and driven on. The A/C in our room didn't work, though they're upgrading it, so perhaps more upgrades are coming.

It's pet friendly and good value for the price. The owner is always doing upgrades, and the staff were probably the best I've ever dealt with.

The bright, sparkling entrance fooled me. The staff were absolute gems and did their best to apologize for the state of things, but I wasn't reassured once I crossed the threshold toward the guest rooms.

I was disappointed and embarrassed by our stay, to put it mildly. We had booked four rooms in August for our grandson's college graduation in May, but the hotel was run down, shabby, old, unkept, and dirty. All four rooms were filthy, though to different degrees. The furniture was mismatched, scratched, worn out, and dusty enough to write your name in. The rooms were a dark, dingy blue, with most walls smeared with “something”. One door looked like it had been kicked in more than once and had no chain lock. The heater didn't work at all, and even after we reported it, nobody tried to help. It was an adjoining room we hadn't reserved, and when we checked that connecting door, it wasn't locked or bolted. Our kids were terrified and didn't want to stay, so we pushed the little fridge with its tiny microwave in front of the door. The amount of dirt and crap beneath the fridge was appalling; there was also so much dirt behind the furniture. The windowsills and pretty much every surface were nasty. I did my best to clean and dust, but it was still gross. There wasn't even one small yellowed light for the whole room. Two of the three lamps worked, but their shades were old and dirty, and we had to leave the drapes open just to see. The beds were comfortable, but the linens were questionable and the bed was made so carelessly it was ridiculous. My kids refused to shower, though my husband tried it and found plenty of hot water. The whole experience was a nightmare. Our family in the other three rooms didn't stay the second night, even though it was paid for; they'd rather lose the money than stay there again. As we left, we saw other rooms being cleaned with the doors open. Those were painted white, had new matching furniture, and looked clean and inviting, the exact opposite of the rooms we were given. I'd like to know why. When we asked about breakfast, we were told there'd be coffee and hot water for hot chocolate, and that was it. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for any occasion or at any price. If I could give it negative stars, I would.
