Courtyard Marriott Laredo

The room seemed recently renovated, and the bed was comfortable enough to get good rest. Service was friendly and efficient, and the location worked well for me. I had a very good stay at Courtyard by Marriott Laredo and would recommend it.

I like the place, but the breakfast coffee has been cut back. It used to come in any size and type, and now it’s only regular small coffee. Just a message for the manager: little details matter.

I had no water when I needed to get ready for work, so I left without showering or even brushing my teeth. I also couldn’t use the gym. The outage notice was waiting in my room when I arrived late on my second night, and there was still no water at 7:30 a.m. If I’d known at check-in two nights earlier, I would have chosen somewhere else. I’d told the check-in gentleman I needed to leave at 5 or 6 a.m. and would miss breakfast, but I was still charged the breakfast-for-one rate. Reception said manager Maria Villarreal wasn’t in on weekends and suggested I email her. She never replied. They shouldn’t charge guests under these conditions.

The front desk was great when I checked in, but there was nobody there at checkout. The room was just okay, with mold in the shower, ants coming up the sink drain and into my toiletry bag, and bugs inside the bathroom light fixture. A guest’s car alarm started at 8 a.m. and kept going for two hours. It sounded like a fire engine. They seem to have painted the rooms, badly, and added sofas and bedside tables, but that didn’t fix the place. Worst Marriott I’ve stayed at. This franchise needs to do better.
