Staybridge Suites Laredo International Airport IHG

The hotel's cleanliness and staff are OUTSTANDING. They offer two breakfast options and lots of amenities. I've recommended it to anyone coming to Laredo.

We booked two rooms with double beds four days ahead, then got an email on arrival day asking us to choose rooms and an arrival time. We did, but the rooms weren't ready when we showed up. We had a photo shoot and needed somewhere to change. The front desk woman offered the conference room and lobby bathrooms, which was unbelievable. We asked for at least one room, but she said none were available and suggested the conference or board room instead. Then she offered one room and said ours would be ready in 15 minutes. We left for the photo session to give them time, but when we came back they said they only had a studio for a family of seven. It was awful. Two of my siblings had booked a week earlier and arrived before us, and they were told the exact same thing. We had tired little kids with us, and they never gave us the rooms we'd reserved. They said it was the studio or nothing. I couldn't believe the poor customer service.

The front desk young lady tried to fix my air conditioner herself when maintenance couldn't be found, and that kept this from being a much worse review. The newer hotel has good amenities and breakfast, but my AC never worked properly despite my reporting it several times. My room stayed too warm, and I ended up propping the door open to get cool air from the hallway. It also wasn't very clean at check-in: there were old coffee pods in the maker, a dirty headboard, and pillows that smelled like sweat.

The room was cleaned and stocked, and most people were friendly. The location is pretty good, with a few restaurants and a couple of gas stations close by. Breakfast wasn't great, though. The breakfast on the Tru side is much better.
