Longhorn Casino & Hotel

The staff were friendly, and checking out was easy, but I won’t stay here again. I chose it because the pictures looked good and Expedia showed an 8.0 rating. For me, it was a 4/10 at best on Expedia and 2/5 on Google. I was overwhelmed by cigarette smoke as soon as I entered the hotel to check in. Even though signs say no smoking by the elevators, the area smelled like a smoking lounge. The elevators always smelled like someone had just smoked in them, and the ice machine nearby badly needed cleaning. The ice tasted like cigarettes. The sign outside advertises “No Resort Fees” in big letters, but I was charged a resort fee every day. The casino wasn’t much of a casino, just slot machines, which you can find at almost any gas station or grocery store. The hotel seemed short handed, though I didn’t have other complaints about the staff. The Chuck Wagon restaurant didn’t impress me much. The hotel gave us a free breakfast coupon every day for two, but the menu was limited. The bacon was really good, while the eggs and potatoes weren’t. The mini waffles with strawberries were pretty good. Service there wasn’t good either. On my last day, the waitress saw my hotel guest coupon but took forever to come to my table. She spoke with an attitude, brought my food, and never came back to offer a coffee refill.
